Independent BMW and MINI Specialists, RL Motor Services, celebrated their 10th year in business in 2016 and continue to go from strength to strength. The company is run by husband and wife team, Richard and Vicky Lakey, and their firm has grown enormously over the past decade. Today, RL Motor Services is proud to be one of the area's most popular garages with a long list of happy customers on its database.
Richard transformed his passion of motor vehicles and repairing them into reality by starting the business in 2006. With a wealth of experience, previous employment at BMW Main Dealer and Performance Car Specialist plus hard work and determination, he has achieved his ultimate goal, a thriving busy BMW Specialist Garage.
RL Motor Services have a dedicated team of finance experts waiting to help with your enquiry. We have relationships with high street lenders and specialist motoring finance houses too, that is why we have helped hundreds of customers secure the best finance deal for their budget. Our expertise with finance means that even if you have a poor credit rating we can help arrange finance for you.
We provide one of best services for MOT tests at our Garage in Plymouth. By using highly experienced staff and equipment you can be assured your car is in good hands to be inspected. We offer a service that Class 4 (Cars) and Class 7 (vans) can now be tested at our garage. For vehicles that come within the MOT scheme, testing is mandatory every year after the vehicle is three years old.
Remapping as a software change is where we modify the operating parameters in the vehicles ECU program or 'map'. We do not change or add any hardware in your vehicle. In many cases the map stored on the ECU's processor can be accessed via the on-board diagnostics port (OBD) in the vehicle, normally found under the dashboard.

Bought a BMW 320D Coupe from Justin at RL which I picked up last Wednesday. Justin was very knowledgeable about several of the cars I liked but settled for the 320D as had a nice combination of power, economy and looks. Paid a bit extra to have the wheels powder coated and the car was detailed and fully sorted for collection. I will return in a year or so to collect my 330D / 335D without question.
