This is usually reserved for specialist settings, so it reflects the very high quality of your teaching and practice. I think you have all worked extremely hard to improve the outcomes and life chances for the children in your school. It is lovely to see that your consistent efforts have been recognised in this way.
Services
We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils. We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school with any queries you may have.
Our governing body is formed of 11 Governors drawn from staff, parents, local authority representatives and members of the local community. In addition to the appointed Governors we also have 3 Associate Members of the Board, two of whom are from the Senior Leadership Team. They input expertise to the business process but do not have voting rights on the Governing Board.
The Full Governing Body ("FGB") meets once each half term (with an additional housekeeping meeting at the start of the Autumn Term to deal with administrative and planning matters for the forthcoming School year). The agenda is determined by the annual cycle of business and reports from portfolio holders and outcomes from the School Improvement Committee.
This was a 'short inspection', because we were already judged as 'good' at the previous inspection in 2015 and we have positive performance data. As a result, the final report is briefer than it would be for a full inspection, taking the form of a letter covering the main points. There are a great many positives outlined in the report and it is a real celebration of some of the special aspects that make Hazeldown the excellent school that we are.
The school has achieved this rating by following its SIP (school improvement plan - sometimes known as a SDP school development plan). Hazeldown Executive Leadership Team formulated its school improvement plan in conjunction with several integral partners such as: advisors from Devon County Council, local leaders of education and elements of Exeter Consortium.

My son loves it here. Great teachers and a wonderful including 'big family' atmosphere. Couldn't wish for a better school!
