Ballynahinch Primary School
At Ballynahinch Primary School and Nursery Unit, we believe that happiness is the key to success. Our children work within a happy and caring environment where their individual needs are met and talents nurtured. Our aim is that all of our children enjoy success at primary school, so we set high expectations and provide support to ensure that every child achieves their potential.

As a visitor to our school, you will undoubtedly notice that the children are our best ambassadors. It is their school, and the adults who work here do so to enable them to be the best they can be. We would be delighted for you to visit us, as this is truly the only way to get a real sense of what our school provides for its pupils.
Services
Here at Ballynahinch, we pride ourselves in offering a wide range of extra-curricular activities. We encourage all of our pupils to fully engage themselves in these activities to further enhance their skills or even develop new ones! We are operating a cashless system, so please refer to the flyers sent home on Seesaw to register your child with their chosen club(s).
Our School Council meet once every half term to discuss issues from the pupils' point of view at Ballynahinch Primary School. As a school, we seek to give children a voice to input into school decision making. Our School Council is made up pupils which were democratically selected by each class from Years 4 to 7.
At the meetings, the School Council decided that there would be four Houses and that their names needed to have a connection with the location of our school. Who better to ask for some local advice but our own lollipop man, Mr Alec Morrow. Mr Morrow suggested a long list of local townland and local names, but the school decided on the four that we now use: Montalto, Croob, Magheradroll and Edenavaddy.
You will receive a letter from school in the post outlining the starting arrangements and a booklet for your child. Please read this to them and talk about the pictures. We have also made a short film to show you some of the things that happen in our Nursery. If you have any further questions please get in contact with school and we will be happy to help you.
