Booked a table for 5.30 with full intention of ordering from festive menu.
Arrived to a empty restaurant that didn't have any tables set out with cutlery. ( Had to enter via a busy bar).
First course was fine, till the waiter took the dishes away dropping a knife with Marie rose sauce on itl eaving a mess on the table. He didn't return to clean it up and I ended up cleaning up myself.
Turkey dinner was absolutely disgusting, to the point I'd say the meat was off.
Desserts weren't that great either.Poached pears presented fridge temperature.....we expected them to be warmish.

Had dinner on Tuesday 28th September and Sarah and all the staff on duty including the chef made dining at The East Linton Hotel delightful. The experience was warm and friendly and welcoming. So good we booked in for a night stopover on return from our break in North Yorkshire. Stayed the night Monday 4th October, had the fish at dinner for our (main) which was excellent and the breakfast was excellent too, I even thanked the chef personally. Yet again the staff on duty made our stay a joyful experience. Well worth the money and will be staying there again in the future. George & Angelina

The staff were lovely and the bed was comfortable however we feel the room was a little overpriced for what it was. The bathroom is outdated with bad water pressure and very noisy plumbing, and the sink was coming away from the wall. The room could've been cleaner too - we found an old sock down the side of the bed and a little bit of mould behind the shower doors. A shame as the staff were so friendly but the room just wasn't worth the price I'm afraid.
