Don't be fooled by its "sleepy little hamlet" appearance. Dunbar and the Dunmuir Hotel can certainly deliver a quiet, relaxing holiday if that's what you want. But for the more inquiring and energetic, there's no shortage of interesting things to see and do. Dunbar has a long and fascinating pedigree.
There are surprisingly good conditions for surfing and bodyboarding off Belhaven beach, and Dunbar's Coast to Coast Surf School (March to November) offers friendly instruction even for total beginners with equipment and wetsuits provided. They also offer adventure trips to other destinations depending on weather conditions and wave potential.
The hotel does not always have a night porter on duty. So if you are looking to arrive after 11pm please contact us so we can ensure that we are around to welcome you. Yes we do and if you have a specific requirement please contact us and we will do all we can to help. Yes we are. Dogs are allowed in the Guest Rooms, Hotel Lobby and Bar so you can dine with your 4 legged friend in the Bar for dinner or breakfast.

We were a group of 5 celebrating a 30th birthday on a surprise weekend away. Everyone enjoyed their choices of meals from a good, varied, menu and the staff were friendly and attentive without being overwhelming.
We had delivered a cake to them the previous evening and this arrived and was presented to the birthday boy who was sung to by all the diners. The cake was then taken away to be cut for us.
