The Stair Arms Hotel is a unique hotel, restaurant & bar with large garden. The hotel is conveniently located in the Midlothian countryside & 10 minutes from Edinburgh city park 'n' ride. Located on the main Edinburgh to Borders route the hotel began as a coaching inn in 1831. We are the ideal destination for lunch, three course meal, coffee & home baking or a cooling drink, we have it all.

The Stair Arms has recently been refurbished by the Ramsay family who own & manage the hotel. They have created beautiful interiors where freshly prepared, locally sourced food is served. Really lovely wee place, was here twice in a week. Once for a psychic night and then for a late lunch with a friend and both times staff were really nice, the food is amazing too. The buffet from the psychic night was fab, especially the nachos and then lunch was amazing too. The tempura mushrooms were brilliant. Will definitely be back and I'd highly recommend.

Worth a visit.
This is a very popular venue for all ages. The food is very good, great portions, reasonable prices and served piping hot where required.
The staff are well practiced in the Covid regulations including wearing face coverings. They are polite friendly whilst remaining respectful to the guests.
There is disabled access and toilets which are very clean.
The hotel is on the main A68 with ample parking and outside tables etc in the better weather.

Lovely Restaurant. Very comfortable seating. Plenty of parking, can be abit difficult to turn right when leaving.
Portions look small but my goodness they are filling! We didn't make it to dessert so took it away with us!
Great prices and good deal on the number of courses you buy!

Really enjoyed our lunch here yesterday. We had the two course OAP offer which was exceptionally good value. Portions good size and food very tasty. Warm welcome on arrival and waitress pleasant and efficient. Relaxed atmosphere.

Great place for a wedding venue 👌 enjoyed very much with our daughter her new husband and wedding party. We had a fantastic stay here. The kids enjoyed playing in the outdoor park.
