Services
UHL physiotherapy service provides physiotherapy at all three hospital sites, as well as local GP surgeries. It is aimed at providing high-quality evidence-based care for all patients who have a musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) problem and provides you with the tools to effectively record and return to normal life as quickly as possible.
If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you may need to make an appointment with the practice nurse. Allow at least 8-12 weeks before travel to ensure enough time to complete vaccinations. Speak to a member of the reception team (either over the phone or at the front desk) who will ask a few questions regarding your trip.
All other times that we are closed, please call the 111 Service - just dial 111 when it is not an emergency or visit www.nhs.uk/111 for more information. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients. Patients who are registered at this practice can now book an appointment to see a GP on weekday early morning (before 8am) and evenings (after 6.30pm).
When the practice is closed and you have a medical condition that cannot wait until the practice opens, then please telephone the Urgent Care Service on 111. Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. They can help with health issues such as family planning, healthy living advice, blood pressure checks and dressings. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as asthma or diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.
