Services
Cotswold Surveyors is an independent practice of Chartered Surveyors and Valuers acting for a varied portfolio of private and corporate clients. We have extensive knowledge and expertise gained over many years to value and report on all types of property throughout Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Worcestershire, Wiltshire, Herefordshire, Bristol, Bath and Warwickshire.
The most common survey reports are the RICS Level 2 Survey and the Building Survey (previously known as a Structural Survey). We also provide independent valuations for matrimonial, probate and tax matters which meet the requirements of solicitors and HMRC. The RICS Level 2 Survey is a detailed inspection of a property designed to provide you with useful information in a format you can easily understand.
Each property is individual and the time taken to investigate the property and address the concerns of the client are different. Generally, for a pre-1900's property or one which has been or it is planned to be extensively renovated or extended, a Building Survey would generally be recommended. For a more modern property which is of conventional construction and in reasonable condition, a RICS Level 2 Survey would usually be more appropriate.

I strongly advise you not to use Cotswold Surveyors for a building survey, and I would advise you instead to get an experienced builder in to detect serious problems. The surveyor failed to spot two critical, structural defects in the late C17th / C18th Grade II listed house I bought, which I outline below. If they had acknowledged their mistakes, helped me through the process and compensated me following my formal complaint, I would not now be writing a negative review. It is in my opinion more damaging that CS have flatly denied any liability.

Paul carried out a homebuyer survey on a Victorian property for us.
After the survey was done, he let us know his frist impression which was very helpful. It then took him only a few days to put together the report. As we first time buyers, we had a lot of questions about the report and Paul spent at least 45 minutes on the phone with us to explain a few things and answer our questions.
Thanks again for your help!

First-rate experience with Cotswold Surveyors. Godfrey delivered a comprehensive survey then patiently chatted through all our concerns at some length. Giles also gave us fantastic advice, again going above and beyond. Frustratingly, our purchase fell through just before exchange, but we’ll not hesitate to use Cotswold Surveyors again for the survey on our next property.
