Services
Our funeral home in Denmead is located at The Old Post Office House on the Hambledon Road. Although it is difficult to confirm exactly when 'The Old Post Office' was built, we believe that it was in the mid to late 1800's. Today, the property has been extensively refurbished to provide the highest standards of care and support for our families and, of course, the deceased.
Our funeral home in Clanfield is located at 43 Drift Road, Clanfield, on the corner of the roundabout just opposite the doctors surgery. Many residents may remember the funeral home as a kitchen showroom. Today, the property has been extensively refurbished to provide the highest standards of care and support for our families.
The staff within our funeral homes are the most precious asset we have. We only have staff who have a unique ability to understand people and how to talk to them. We are confident that you will find our staff caring, compassionate, professional and sympathetic. We will be there to help, support and guide you through this upsetting time.
We fully understand that it is important for a funeral service to be arranged and carried out with dignity, and in accordance with the wishes of the family, each and every time. We appreciate that this may often be a very upsetting time. Our commitment to you is that we will support you through, and indeed beyond, the funeral service.
At South Downs Funeral Service we believe that the care of the deceased is one of the most important roles we can fulfil for the families we look after. We consider it our responsibility to care for your loved one from the moment we take them into our care, whether it is from a private home, hospice, nursing home or hospital.

As a florist I deal with many different funeral directors on a daily basis (some of whom I’d much rather avoid) but I can honestly say that none (in the 32 years I’ve been working as a florist) has ever put themselves out the way these guys did to help us with an issue (not ours (or their) fault) however, it was one only we (the florist) could really solve in the end.
They went above and beyond, putting their own day on hold for us to try and see if they could come up with a different solution which would help, and I cannot thank them enough.
If they can be that attentive and act so professionally
