Services
Your choice of funeral director is hugely important, a good choice will in some small way help you to ease your grief. When choosing a Funeral Director, in the absence of an informative website with gallery, you should ask to see pictures of the facilities or perhaps visit them before you entrust your loved ones into their care.
If the person died at home, or in a hospice or care home, following confirmation of the death by a professional, usually a Doctor, we will arrange to collect your loved one and convey them to our chapel of Rest. The Doctor will issue a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death. If the person died in Hospital, we may not be able to convey your loved one to our Chapel of Rest until the necessary documentation has been taken care of.
All deaths occurring in England and Wales must be registered within 5 days of the death unless the Coroner's involvement prevents this. Registering the death should be in the District where the death occurred. If you are unable to attend where the death occurred then you may make a declaration of death at any Register Office in England and Wales.
If you believe there may be a Will, it is important to check to see if the person left any specific instructions with regards to the funeral and whether they wished to be interred or cremated before making any arrangements with us. When a person dies, someone has to deal with their estate by collecting in all the money, paying any debts and distributing the estate to those entitled to it.

This funeral home assisted my mums husband (not my dad ), take my mum away from her friends and family. This place is nowhere near where she comes from. This place is as guilty as the man who took her from us and stole my mum

Sadden by the lack of thought, care and compassion shown by this company towards a family I'm connected with.
The family has no involvement or able to visit their beloved mother /grandmother at the parlour due to the step father. The parlour is miles away from the family and friends.
No thought for the grief of the whole family just the partner terrible!

This was a disgusting display of etiquette and general mis-care, this funeral arrangement portrayed an absolute mockery of my dear nan's funeral, it was miles away from where she lived and the funeral organisation was very poor.
a miscommunication between my nan's 'partner' and the ones who truly loved her caused a mishap at the funeral which was managed poorly by the directors.

Barrels are the best by far we have always used them they done my mums funeral in 2006 but I don't remember to much as I was a child but Recently they have took care of my dad & his funeral and my god the care my dad received was outstanding. From his grooming to having his own clothes and private Chappel of rest over looking the garden with beautiful views he stayed there untill his funeral everything was perfect & my dad looked better in the Chapel then he did the last time I saw him. Lisa was looking after me and she's is the most kindest person nothing was to much trouble for her she meet all

I am so pleased I chose Barrells to take care of my Partners funeral. Stuart was fantastic....caring, professional, easy to talk to and nothing was too much trouble. He also found us a celebrant that did a wonderful job of reading our tributes and conducting the service. Yesterday I gave my beautiful baby Angel her funeral👼 it was such a sad distressing time for me.
James Martindale was so sympathetic and supportive to me, himself and other staff at Barrels were so helpful.
They got me some beautiful keepsakes that I can love and cherish forever.
James understood what I wanted for my baby and kept me informed at every stage of arrangements.
Her casket was so beautiful.
The flowers that were in the hearse were organised around her little casket so perfectly.
The Final Journey over the hill was lovely.
Thank you to all of you who looked after my little

THEIR SERVICE IN ONE WORD: NIGHTMARE!! NO FLOWER ARRANGEMENTS ALTHOUGH A FLORIST WAS OPEN NEARBY THEIR FACILITY; NO CLOTHES ACCEPTED, ALTHOUGH IT TOOK 2 WEEKS FOR A SOLID OAK COFFIN TO BE PRODUCED, IN THIS TIME ANY VIRUS WOULD HAVE DIED IF THEY LEAVE THE CLOTHES UNTOUCHED; THE CHAPEL WAS NOT OPENED AT LEAST FOR MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER JUST FOR 10 MINUTES TO SPEND A LITTLE TIME WITH HIM BEFORE THE BURIAL, MOREOVER, MY HUSBAND'S COFFIN ARRIVED TO THE CEMETERY WITHOUT ME FOLLOWING HIM, BECAUSE SIMON DIRECTED ME TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION, SO I COULD NOT FOLLOW MY HUSBAND ON HIS
