Services
The Alexandra Hotel has six bedrooms all of which are en-suite and individually decorated to a high standard. Amenities include freeview television, hairdryers and hospitality trays. All rooms now have free access to our wi-fi network. Just returned from a 3 night break at 'The Alexandra' and had an excellent time.
The Alexandra has a 30 seat restaurant where the chef uses superb local produce including locally smoked salmon and locally raised beef, along with fresh fish for the coast to create an impressive range of dishes for our ever popular menu. We always have a daily specials board. We are very proud of our reputation for providing a satisfying choice of meals to both guests and non-residents alike and work hard to maintain it.
Spent just about the most lovely afternoon having drinks and lunch in this highland getaway. The hotel owner come barman come waiter did it all, and with the ease of a true professional. The Royals can have Balmoral - I'll happily take The Alexandra!. The hotel also has a popular public bar which serves meals in comfortable surroundings.

So disappointed, the staff are so warm and friendly. But the food, sadly, is bland and lacking any flavour. Maybe the fish and chips are okay, but the homemade pie was totally without flavour, and unfortunately the chicken wrapped in bacon and stuffed with haggis also bland. Ballater needs pub style food with flavour and value for money.
