Take one of the oldest, most historic half-timbered buildings in Shrewsbury. Give it a beautiful zinc bar bathed in ever changing colours and add a conservatory with elegant chandeliers, framed by stunning iron birdcages. Then combine it with an exquisite oak framed restaurant and a luxurious private dining room.
Finally, top it off with a big vaulted function room with some of the best acoustics in town, playing some of the best acts around. Whether meeting with friends for a drink or joining with work colleagues for lunch. Bringing family and friends together for a celebration or being part of a special occasion: Welcome to Henry Tudor House!

Services
We love to celebrate food in all its many traditions. Hearty stews, delicate souffles, creamy risottos, perfectly seared steaks - we celebrate flavour, quality, authenticity and culinary innovation - and to be honest, our Head Chef is a bit of a stickler for detail! We believe wholeheartedly in engaging with nature, cherishing the rich and varied bounty that each season brings.
We think matching the right moment to the right drink is one of the most rewarding things we can do. What's better than getting together with friends, family and work mates, to share tales and create memories over great food, with a glass of something? We hope you have as much fun trying our careful choice of wines and beers as we did (well someone had to do it!)

I only need four words for this place;
Peach and pistachio cheesecake
Two of my favourite things smooshed together perfectly with a teeny perfect macaron for garnish...
There is however a minimum word count, so inwill say that it's an adorably cosy little restaurant-come-pub. From my time in there I wouldn't have guessed but a music venue though, but it was post lockdown

Came here today for lunch and drinks with the family. Staff were so polite and so helpful, especially the gentleman who worked there (sorry don't know his name) but he made sure that we could get a table for 6 even though we hadn't booked. Food was very yummy, setting warm and cosy, will definitely recommend.

I never write reviews but after a very poor experience recently at Henry tudor house and seeing so many sarcastic and arrogant replies from the owners I have been tempted.
This place used to be so good but now it has a very poor low class ambience and service in my opinion.
Gone is the class that I remember. Whenever I stopped in Shrewsbury on my travels up north I visited Henry Tudor House and always had a steak which was always well cooked, quality cuts and served by experienced mature staff who all had a certain quality of customer service and deference.
I cannot stop myself from being saddened

Definitely highly recommended.
Book a table before you go. We were pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the atmosphere and menu immensely. The staff were knowledgeable about the dishes and drinks on offer. There was a separate vegetarian menu. Their website is really well done too.
We had tempura prawn and chorizo starters - delicious. Pork belly and beef Wellington were amazing; served with yummy vegetables, mash etc. all beautifully presented. I’d love to go back!
The only thing I’d warn peeps about is the uneven cobblestone walkway outside in the alley in front of restaurant - tread carefully

Been to this restaurant many times. The food is always phenomenal. Aways creating such unique and delicious dishes. Personally I tried beef Wellington for the first time here and it was incredible. I will definitely be ordering that again! The staff are always so polite and friendly and have great knowledge of the menu. Would definitely recommend here.

Lovely food and nice, competent staff. We were served quickly and the servers were able to tell when we were ready to order.
I had the beef wellington and white chocolate cheese cake. Both were well cooked and tasted great. Portion sizes were good but not sure I could have manged 3 courses.
We were sat in the upstairs restaurant, the only issue we did have was the staff and kitchen staff seemed to be walking between the two kitchens/areas with pots and kitchen equipment. While it wasn't a big problem I can see how it could spoil a romantic evening.
Overall, I would recommend and would go back

Second visit here and loved it both times. The first time we came here was at lunchtime on our minimoon just after our wedding last September. We loved it then and knew we had to come back to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. This time we came in the evening and was coincidentally sat at the same as the first visit. The waitress was hospitable and attentive. For starters we had the plaice and salmon fishcake and the chicken liver parfait. For mains we had the belly pork, roast potatoes and gravy; and sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce and chips. All the food was cooked to perfection and

Oh! This cute pub / restaurant tucked down an inviting lane way, oozes with a grand Tudor look outside and as you make your way inside, it instantly feels like a cosy, great place to visit.
There is plenty of seating in a welcoming lounge, even a snug area tucked away with a fireplace to kick back and unwind.
There is a restaurant section; I didn't eat in the restaurant but did have a 3 course menu served up at a private wedding hosted in the top floor function room; food was beautifully cooked and well portioned, with everything coming out very timely. Staff were very friendly and accommodating
