Sunbeams Day Nursery
Sunbeams Day Nursery is located on Hawkers Hill, Mitcheldean in the old Victorian primary school building. Sunbeams has been established since 1997 as a privately run day nursery. The premises have been equipped to care for the needs of children from three months to five years, offering full and part time childcare.

Our aim is to provide a safe, secure, homely environment for all children and to help them develop by learning through play. We are registered with OFSTED and we accept a number of childcare funding sources, such as workplace vouchers, two, three and four year funding and 30 hours funding.
Services
Our baby unit is called Little Butterflies, where we aim to help babies explore and develop in a safe environment. It is equipped to take up to nine babies. There is an emphasis on natural world and sensory experiences whilst ensuring their physical and emotional needs for a loving, secure base to explore from.

We work closely with parents to ensure feeding, sleeping and changing routines are agreed and individual needs are met.
At eighteen months, children make the transition to our toddler unit- Busy Bees. We offer settling in sessions in advance and are flexible as to age, depending on stage of development. Busy Bees provides a range of accessible play equipment, natural resources, sensory experiences and physical opportunities to develop children's all round development.
Learning Ladybirds covers children from two and a half years to school transition age. We have two large rooms equipped for a range of play opportunities, covering all areas of the EYFS curriculum. We aim to help children construct, create, engage in imaginative play and above all, have fun through learning.
Sunbeams place high importance on experience in childcare and employ staff who have many years caring for children. We offer continuing training through NVQ, student placements and relevant courses such as First Aid, Child Protection and Food Hygiene. As required by Ofsted all of our staff receive police checks and our staff ratios are well within the recommended Ofsted guidelines.
