Staff are good role models. Children are valued, made to feel welcome, and display good levels of confidence and self-esteem. They use ongoing reflection and self-evaluation successfully to improve experiences for children. The views of parents are fully considered. This provides particularly good opportunities for them to develop their physical skills and explore the natural world.
They make good progress in their learning. Management and staff use a wide range of communication methods to exchange information with parents. Our nursery environment was described as attractive and stimulating, providing a wide range of good quality resources, inside and out. It is also highlighted how we have strong safeguarding procedures and daily routines that fully support children's growing independence skills.

Services
Our badgers room is for our eldest children who attend the nursery. Typically aged 3 up to school leaver age. The pre-school educators promote confidence, independence and celebrate children's individuality and growing character. As with the other rooms in the nursery the educators follow a play based pedagogy to learning, where children learn how to think and not what to think.
Our self contained baby room is designed to be a home from home environment where children are supported in all their newly developed gross motor skills such as learning to crawl or to walk. We have plenty of space to move and explore with a separate sleep and sensory room for quiet times and sleep.
We promote this at Skallywags through a home-cooked menu made from fresh ingredients and using local suppliers. This includes a breakfast snack, cooked lunch and light tea, with plenty of fruit, vegetables and healthy snacks throughout the day. We encourage the children to be involved in meal times, helping to lay the table and support self-service meaning children make independent choices about their meals.
All our staff are first aid and child protection trained and we ensure they all complete qualifications to the highest level, with a minimum of Level 3. All staff are encouraged to attend training courses throughout the year to further their knowledge and understanding. Training attended is then shared with all staff and parents at the nursery via newsletters and workshops.

I am very unhappy about this nursery, my Child got kicked out because the paymet didnt come in on Time.Nobody even called me or gave me a notice. Since that time my Child had been crying about going in to nursery and he really dosent like one lady he says that he shouts. We have spoken to the manager about this teacher and she Just ignored it and said the teacher was fine.
