I make hand carved Oak House Signs and also hand carved Breadboards which can be personalised, they are the ideal wedding or anniversary present. Each one is unique to the couple concerned, and is fully functional as well as being decorative. Originally making hand carved wooden house signs, I saw a potential new market when I was asked to make a personalised breadboard for a customer.

Now I tend to specialise in Oak House Signs and Personalised Breadboards, but still do other commissioned work. Once you're ready to place your order you can either pay securely by card, or print off your order to send me a cheque.
Services
Hand-carved Breadboards are the ideal present for weddings, anniversaries, couples moving into a new house etc. I personalise them by adding names, dates or whatever inscription you wish. The boards are all made from a single piece of Sycamore which is the traditional wood that's been used for centuries.
Wheat decoration at the sides is the default option, is free of charge and is used to make up the space left after the words and numbers have been carved. Any punctuation is also free of charge. I can put diamond separators, flowers, horseshoes, thistles etc on the edge instead of wheat, but bear in mind that long thin designs work best.
The outer edge is lower than the central cutting area, so the design won't be damaged when you cut bread on the board. A useful feature of the board is the deep crumb ring which does a very good job of catching the bread crumbs. This is a traditional design Sycamore Breadboard with 7 ears of wheat carved into the edge.
This is a collection of boards that I have made that are more complex in nature, and therfore can't be ordered directly through the website. If you want me to "make you something special", please feel free to contact me to discuss your requirments. Nicky contacted me and asked if I could make her a 14 (36cm) board for her 5th wedding anniversary.
Large cheese boards are starting to be requested more often these days and I usually make them 14" (36cms) wide but can go wider still especially for couples having a "Cheese Wedding". Instead of a crumb ring which is the deep channel you see on a breadboard, I put a thin decorative v groove which sets the board off and is pleasing to the eye.
