Coping with bereavement is one of the most painful and difficult times in our lives, and regardless of whether the death is sudden or expected, none of us can be prepared for the distress and pain it causes. Each individual has their own way of dealing with their grief - there is no right or wrong way.

As funeral directors, we stand in a sensitive position at such an emotional time, supporting and helping you through this difficult period. We are dedicated professionals, wholly committed to providing a caring and sympathetic service to the highest standards, offering complete discretion along with advice, support and understanding to you and your family when you need it most.
Services
Alun H. Lewis Independent Family Funeral Directors is a family owned business established by Alun in 1982, although his experience within this profession began in 1978 when he trained for four years with a well-established firm.

Over the years we have built our reputation on being dignified, caring and professional in all aspects of our work, and whilst there have been many changes within the profession, our role continues to be one where we support families before, during and after the funeral.Today, the business continues to be administered by Alun along with his wife Lisa and their son Gerallt.
The facility of our private Chapel of Rest is also available, where you can view your loved one within our tranquil surroundings. We kindly ask that all who intend to visit the Chapel of Rest telephone first to arrange a convenient time. On site car parking. In addition to the traditional wooden coffin, there are a wide range of other styles available.
We are an independent company and are therefore able to determine our own charges. We endeavour to be highly competitive whilst maintaining our high standards, ultimately providing a service which represents excellent value for money. Depending on your financial circumstances, the next-of-kin may be entitled to receive help with the cost of the funeral from the Social Fund.
Naturally, most of us don't want to think about our own deaths, however with funeral prices increasing in excess of inflation, it now makes sense financially to pre-pay for your funeral. To organise your own funeral also offers peace of mind as the important decisions have already been made. For your family the process will ease some of the anxiety as they will know that the funeral arrangements will be exactly as you requested.
If the death occurs at home or in residential care the doctor should be called. It may be that your local doctor attends in person or, if it is outside surgery hours, it's possible that a duty doctor will attend. The funeral director should be called once the doctor has confirmed that the person has died.
