Services
If the death occurs at home: The deceased's doctor should be called. Once the doctor (or on call doctor if it is outside of working hours) has come to the house to confirm the person has died, we will then be able to attend. The doctor issues the Medical Certificate of Death so you would need to contact the doctor's surgery in order to arrange collection as this is required in order to register the death.
The death must be registered in the district where it occurred, and you will need to phone the Register Office to make an appointment. The occupier of the Nursing Home or Hospital where the death occurred if there is no known relative able to register. The full name and surname of the deceased, and if the deceased was a married woman or widow, her maiden surname.
