The Land Of Liberty Peace & Plenty
As a business we offer you all the traditional aspects of a friendly atmosphere, great real ales, great snacks and great company. The building is a traditional style single bar pub, which was built in the 1820's and served as the local beer shop. It became a pub with 3 rooms in the late 19th Century, and has had various improvements made over the years.

We consider that we are running and living in a community service as well as a business, hence you can find several items unusual for a pub to offer (in the absence of a village shop) and many of our neighbours are regulars.
Services
You will find 10 handpumps on the bar offering a range of ales, including changing guests. Over-sized lined glasses are available to ensure a full liquid pint for all the real ales, and many other drinks. We keep a large range of craft gin, single malt whiskies, bourbons and premium spirits on the top shelf which changes regularly.
It is on the Chiltern line from Marylebone in London and on the Metropolitan line of the London underground. If you would like to be collected from the station, please give us advance notice and we will make arrangements. Minibuses and coaches are welcome, but with advance notice so we can offer a good service and accommodate your party.

You will not find a better, more attentively kept, or flavoursome pint of real ale for miles. In addition, there's a strong chance you can try a session beer with a depth and balance of flavours belying its 3%ABV strength. Broaden your beer horizons with a trip to the Land-o!

I've been coming here on and off for many years now, a decent selection of cask ales which are always well kept. Landlord is an interesting chap who may not be everyones cup of tea, not the most welcoming place but still a nice spot especially the garden.

Just been to this pub to meet my dad. Waiting for my dad to turn up in the car park before we go in. Misrable Landlord very rudely asking why I'm waiting in the car park. Not very welcoming so have gone to the koi carp a more welcoming pub up the road.

This is one of my partner’s local pubs, and having now visited every other pub in the area many times, we’ve both decided that this one is our favourite.
At a glance it looks like a bit of an old man pub, but it’s actually quite a quirky little spot with colourful clientele. There’s a reasonably broad, rotating selection of ales and ciders on offer as well as a good selection of gins and other spirits, and we always find something for our tastes. My partner says the sausage rolls are transcendental.
The pub has a lot more character than others nearby and we’ve always found the staff

Beer selection was great as was the quality, the only reason for docking the fifth star was the football on TV although it was the world cup and the sound was quite low. The food selection is expensive for what it is.
