Wards Veterinary Centre
At Wards Veterinary Centre, we aim to provide the most up to date veterinary services along with excellent client communication and outstanding patient care. We make every effort to ensure that our patients live happy and healthy lives. We are a first opinion veterinary practice serving both small animals and large animals in Elgin and the surrounding Moray area.

Originally, the practice was set up in the small village of Craigellachie, before opening a branch practice in Elgin in 1981. In 1995, due to the increasing demand for our services, we moved premises to our current location at Wards Veterinary Centre, New Elgin Road. In 2004/5 our Craigellachie branch closed its doors for the final time and all the work was transferred to our larger premises at the Wards.
Services
Pet insurance provides cover for veterinary fees in the event that your pet becomes injured or unwell. It can provide peace of mind that you're in a position to afford all the veterinary care your pet may need. With veterinary medicine employing expensive medical techniques and medication, and with pet owners caring more and more about their pets' health, pet insurance is becoming increasingly popular.
If your insurer asks you to complete your claim online, what we need from you will be greatly simplified. Please note the process may differ between insurers. Attach the clinical history, along with a copy of any payments you've made (you do not have to keep any receipts). Please note the processing of direct claims is discretionary and based on the relationship between the insurer and the clinic.
We believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great!
Teeth can cause many health problems and pain in pet dogs and cats. As pets get older, it is almost inevitable that there is a gradual build up of tartar and plaque on teeth. If this is left untreated, it gradually leads to problems such as erosion of the gums, gingivitis (gum infection), tooth decay and eventually loss of teeth.
If you require a home visit, please give the surgery as much notice as possible, although sometimes these visits are not suited to your pet's needs. Please bear that in mind when at the surgery. We have a full range of equipment and materials for treating your pet. In an emergency, it is usually best for you to bring your pet directly to the surgery.

Always pleasant staff every time I have phoned or visited. Very helpful. I'm in the pet plan, and was kindly advised that I wasn;t using all my membership benefits - so kind. So I booked my dog in for all the things I had been missing. Very helpful and friendly. My dog runs in!

Whilst at our holiday home on the coast, our Cockapoo developed a sore eye. Not having used a vet up this way before we worked off a recommendation and weโ€™re so glad we did. Very professional and understanding of our need. We were offered a speedy appointment, within the hour! Confident diagnosis and the right medication, allowing us to get back to time away with a happier and healthier pooch. Thanks Wards. Your number is saved ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
