Counselling is way of addressing problems by talking them through with someone who is able to be professionally supportive, but who is not directly involved with the situation. There are times in everyone's lives when they experience difficulties they cannot sort out on their own. At these times people close to them can often provide the help they need.
We run a range of professionally delivered counselling training courses ranging from half day seminars to fully certified qualifications. A one term, 30 hour course held in the spring and autumn. This course is suitable for those who wish to learn initial listening skills in order to help other people, whether in a voluntary, church or employed setting.
Volunteers form the backbone of Listening Post, and without our many volunteers, the work we do would not be possible. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and help us in many ways, from fundraising and litter picking to administration and counselling. Our counsellors are all volunteers - both student counsellors working on their diplomas, and qualified counsellors who have chosen to give something back.

The service? that does not give a toss! I waited one year+ and only received a cursory call after nine months concerning the wait times due to Covid-19.
Finally,my GP suggested I ring them to re-establish contact. The co-ordinator in Cheltenham rang me to apologize and said a counsellor would ring me the following evening.Nobody rang of course.I give up.God help more vulnerable people needing counselling.A sobering experience which I will try to put behind me.
