One of the oldest pubs in St Albans, the White Hart Tap is situated a short walk from the town centre and ten minutes from St Albans mainline station. We are a friendly local pub which attracts an eclectic mix of people creating a pleasant and fun atmosphere. In summer the large garden has plenty of space & tables to enjoy a meal from the lunchtime or evening menu.
In the winter the woodburning fire creates a warm and cosy place to enjoy a glass of mulled wine together with the pub cat Paddy who can be seen stretched out in front of it. WHT is indeed a very special place, probably the only pub (in the world) where live piano music is played on a sloping ironing board.

Decent atmosphere quite quiet. Staff especially waitress was rude especially when asking about our order. My food had hair in it which wasn't mine and the food wasn't even that great and was cold. Coke had so much ice in it suprised they even could fit any coke in. Overall wouldn't go here far nicer places nearby don't waste your money.

Worst service I have experienced in st Alban's - 2 horrid members of staff. Rolled their eyes when we came in and asked for a drink, and during a downpour we moved tables and got told off for not informing them when the pub was empty. Will not be coming back, which is a shame as when previously were here it was much better! avoid!

Although not a ‘regular’, I’ve enjoyed my many visits to this fairly small pub with good size beer garden.
The range of ales, craft beers and ciders is wide and interesting and all I’ve tried were well kept. Enjoyed the quiz nights and other entertainment. Never tried the Sunday Lunch but it certainly looks good!
