Services
Moorhouse Opticians is a third-generation family business, with our sister company having been established for over 90 years. Managing Director - Richard Puttrell - first became interested in a career in optics after a chance meeting with an optician while he was at school. Richard has some significant personal achievements under his belt, including completing the Inca Trail in 2009 and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in 2011.
You probably already know that it's important for you to have your eyes tested at least once every two years. If you're over 70 years of age, have diabetes or glaucoma, you'll need to visit your optician every 12 months. But do you know why it's so important to make sure your eyes and vision are checked regularly?
Get your little one off to the best start in life - make sure they're visiting the optician regularly. Your child's vision shapes the way they interpret the world, and significantly contributes to their development and learning. It is often thought that children don't need an eye test until they are able to read, but in fact they should be regularly visiting the optician from about 12 months of age.
Computer work can take its toll on your eyes - avoid lasting damage with a specialist check at our practice. Do you work in an office all day, or in a job where you use a computer a lot of the time? If so, you'll probably recognise the feeling of tired, sore and achy eyes that can come as a result of spending several hours looking at a screen.
If you need new eyewear, the choices you make are significant. These days, glasses aren't just to help improve your vision, but they're an important accessory too that can say a lot about your character and personality. Perhaps you're looking for a smart and sophisticated pair of frames that you can wear to work?
