Located on the historic Forth Banks of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Sachins finest Punjabi cuisine has become a local icon since opening over 38 years ago. Current owner Kulmeet (Bob) Arora was a regular diner before taking over the restaurant in 2000.
Quickly going from a big part of his life to being the centre of his life, Bob put his heart and soul (and continues to do so to this day) into turning the already bustling restaurant into a cut above the rest.Featuring an ambient, atmospheric interior, Sachins is the perfect way to unwind after a long day at the office, to celebrate a special occasion or even just for a meal with a difference.

Head chef Bob Arora not only controls the kitchen but also owns the restaurant, so you know each dish he prepares is made with the upmost attention to detail. He can often be found out and about demonstrating the traditional methods of cooking which have seen Sachins become Newcastle's favourite Punjabi and Indian restaurant.
The ingredients in Sachins' food aren't just thrown together in the hope they go. Each dish is carefully measured, and using the finest, freshest spices, meats and vegetables are blended to perfection, resulting in an individual experience every time.
Such is the attention to detail from Sachins, as well as many of the spices coming directly from their source, even the spice grinders are brought in from India as no product available in the UK is able to do justice to the care and attention to detail that goes into every meal made.A number of customers and critics alike have remarked about the taste of certain ingredients shining through even the hottest dishes on the menu.

Using only the finest and freshest ingredients, the restaurant offers such delicacies as Bateer Tandoori, Quails marinated in spices and barbequed in the tandoor and served on a sizzling bed of onions and Chingiri Makhani, a speciality from the tandoor consisting of King Prawns marinated in Punjabi spices, barbecued, tossed in butter and served with sauce and garnished with edible silver leaf.

Nice food at Sachins. Situated at the back of the Newcastle train station, you enter via a small lobby, and are shown to your table. Service was good, and drinks were regularly brought to our table. Good selection of dishes available, although one of our orders was incorrect and we had to send it back which was a little disappointing. Overall, an enjoyable evening.

Best Indian restaurant in this price range in Newcastle possibly in the UK. Bob is a spice and ingredients genius. Every dish was exceptional, but the Lal Ghosht is an absolute corker. That's what I'd ask for if I was ever in the position to order my last meal as a condemned man! With naan and the Kabuli channa sidie of course!

Having been many times before lockdown, I decided to take my son and family to celebrate his twenty first birthday My son having come all the way from Hull What a big mistake that was!! To be fair the service was 5 star, sadly the same can not be said about the food. My sons curry tasted like a bag of salt and was so bad was returned. Mine was very gritty and not what I expected having eating many times in this restaurant . We did complain but sadly fell on deaf ears. So I was left with a expense bill and ruined my sons birthday. When he returned to his hotel room he even had to order a take away

Five stars. Just visit here and make your own judgement. You will not be disappointed. Meat eaters, pescatarians, veggies and vegans collide. Amazing food, amazing service, huge bar, full of beers wines and spirits. Realistic prices for the quality of food. Very high standards. I had the black bean curry (no meat or dairy). Really tasty and ordered some fresh chilli on the side with no problem. Dishes are fresh, well balanced and tasty. 100% recommenced and itโs just off the town centre. Also offers take away and s lovely drink while your food is cooked in the bar / wanting area.

Beside the location Sachins is pretty much an all around a sure bet for good Punjabi food in a refined setting. Service was friendly, efficient and answered all my questions.
The paratha was light, flaky and had just the right amount of ghee. All the curries were very nice and the proteins in them were cooked well. Lamb in lal goshat was tender enough to cut with a fork. Pakoras were also very good.
I've only I lived in Newcastle I'd come back here regularly.
