Swain House Primary School
On behalf of all the staff, pupils and Governors can I wish you a warm welcome to Swain House Primary. We hope you find our website informative and that it gives you an insight into life at our school. Here at Swain House we are committed to providing the best educational experience for all of our pupils.

The focus in our school is on giving all pupils the opportunity to achieve their full potential. This means providing exciting lessons so they make the best progress they can in their studies but also providing guidance and support so they can develop as happy, well-balanced individuals who can make the right decisions for themselves.
Services
At Swain House Primary School we are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our pupils so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere. We believe every pupil should be able to participate in all school activities in an enjoyable and safe environment and be protected from harm.
What is Investors in Pupils? Investors in pupils helps children to find out about their school, the jobs of everyone in it and to understand that the school has a budget. It supports pupils in setting targets for the class and for themselves, whilst recognising the importance of the roles and responsibilities of everyone involved in their education and how they as a pupil can make a difference.
We have developed guides to help you to help your child at home with their maths. Each guide has been created to show you the methods we teach the children in school to add, subtract, divide and multiply. This site collects data to provide you with the best possible experience. Indeed, we collect the way you browse the site but only anonymously for analysis purposes.
An important part of the numeracy curriculum is the ability to recall the answers to times tables quickly. One of the government aims is that every child will know all their multiplication tables, up to 12x12, by the end of Year 4. This is an area we are focusing on in school using our Maths Passports.
At Swain House we have a democratically elected school council which is re-elected every year. There are at present 20 school council members, 2 councillors from every class from year 2 onwards. The School Council are responsible for leading charity fundraising events in school.

Over the years we have raised lots of money for charities such Comic Relief, Sport Relief and Children in Need through bun sales, wrapped biscuit sales, whole school exercise challenges, selling red noses and even wearing our pyjamas to school! Our School Council work hard to make positive changes to the way the school works.
