The New Malton has already established an excellent local reputation for its welcoming atmosphere and classic pub food with an imaginative twist. Owners Anthony and Gemma have done a great job of refurbishing this grade II listed building, which features flagstone and hardwood floors, an open fire and a rustic assortment of solid wood tables and chairs.
While Gemma takes care of front of house duties, Anthony is busy in the kitchen, where he uses locally sourced ingredients - including free-range Yorkshire meat and eggs - to create a menu designed to appeal to everyone. The menu changes regularly in keeping with the seasons and all food is made on the premises.

Services
We are wheelchair friendly although unfortunately we don't have a wheelchair friendly toilet, it's something we're working on. Dogs are part of the family too, so of course they're welcome. All we ask is that you keep them on a short lead and respect other customers as not everybody's a dog lover. We don't offer a separate children's menu, although we are always happy to adapt a selection of dishes that will appeal to the smaller person.

A lovely, cosy place to be on a snowy November evening. Great atmosphere and really lovely seasonal food, using local produce, from a good-sized menu. Add to that a nicely curated wine list with some interesting bottles and you have a smashing night out. The staff are marvellous, with special mention for Georgia, whose charming, helpful and attentive service in our part of the pub really made the evening sparkle.

Visited with friends for an evening meal before going to the local cinema.
Staff couldn't have been more helpful. All 4 starters and mains were delicious. We really couldn't fault it. The two men in our party were impressed with the selection of local beers and tables were socially distanced well. Portion sizes were perfect.
Would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely return. Our favourite restaurant in Ryedale.

Blast form the past, In a world of online retail giants this little beauty is a fantastic escape from the usual click and order routine.
take your time strolling through the old worldly shops and having the pleasure of feeling seeing and smelling the products before you probably won't buy them, the exact opposite of online.
A must have in modern world and am amazing way to pass an hour with out having to pay anything. Unless you so should want to help out the local vendors that is 🍻

Had a pleasant snack here at the new Malton the staff were prompt to seat us in the library room with a lovely view of the church outside the rest of the bar area was full with people eating thought it must be good here. We had the 4oz steak sandwich with a few chips and the cheddar and pickle sandwich with a few chips. 2 pints of Stowford press cider . Would have loved to have tried more from the very varied menu . Such a great selection for people . Gluten free and dishes that can be made gluten free . We will be back this way again and not hesitate to eat here again .

We were in town on a Sunday and this was one of the only few places we could find open, but what a great surprise! The food was fantastic, and the atmosphere was very nice as well!
I ordered the Roast Yorkshire Beef & Yorkshire Pudding (£10.95) and it was delicious. Everything was perfectly cooked, and all parts of the dish came together and complemented each other in flavor. This was some of the best English pub food I've had.
They had a good selection of drinks both bottled and on tap. The building looked very nice inside, and felt very upscale for an English pub. The staff was very

This is a great place to come and eat, just make sure you book, it's that popular. We now visit regularly because the food and drink are excellent not to mention the staff who are always friendly and helpful.
It's not cheap but to be honest it's worth every penny, everything from lamb to a rare hot beef sandwich are fabulous (they do good veggie options as well).
