We are a small, intimate and informal Restaurant of 10 tables with an ethos to create a friendly, relaxed and welcoming dining experience from our young and enthusiastic team, centred around beautifully prepared local and seasonal seafood dishes, with dishes developed from travels afar and each chef's passion for different cuisines we aim to offer a fusion of dishes to amaze your taste buds, and seafood platters being a popular constant.

Symbols applied to suit Allergens and dishes will be adapted accordingly. G = No Gluten, D = No Dairy all other allergies can be catered for, just let us know on booking. Our Platters are designed to share with maybe an extra side but do come with Potato Salad and Dressed Leaves. Can't get a reservation?
Gyre & Gimble is based in Norwich, Norfolk, a city which has offered a warm welcome to strangers since medieval times, including Dutch immigrants for whom this term became an acknowledged nickname. Can't get a reservation? Then order a Takeaway (24 hours noticed required) and are available Wednesday to Saturday.
If there is no on-line availability this would mean we are fully booked, you could email us to be added to our cancellation list, but do leave all your details of Name, Numbers, Mobile Number, Date Required and whether you require Lunch or Dinner. Couldn't get a table then book a Takeaway of one of our Platters or Finish at Home Meals - ordering restrictions apply.
We will contact you by email and confirm the time your takeaway will be ready to collect. On arrival - wear a mask, tell Front of House you are here and then wait outside and we will bring your collection out as quick as possible. Cod Chasni Curry (Medium Creamy & Tomato) with Coriander Rice, Saag Aloo and Garlic Naan (F, SU, C, D, G) (GF & DF without the Naan).
We have chosen wines of exceptional quality to match fish from wonderful regions and now serve most by the glass to broaden your taste buds, with our wine menu in house now separated into taste and style. Delicate and Complex aromas of white peach, wild blossom and spice. The palate is finesse with wild strawberry and citrus fruit with a hint of brioche, all leading into a creamy seductive balance.

Wow, Lunch yesterday was a truly fabulous eating experience. The staff were very professional, friendly and gave us excellent service throughout the meal. The food matched the service in excellence and our mussel starter was the best mussels I have ever eaten. Our main courses were also outstanding and the crab platter was incredible. Thank you to all involved for a memorable lunch. Would recommend Crab House to everyone and undoubtedly we will be back.

Absolutely amazing! Fabulous service, incredible food and super covid secure. We were so exceptionally lucky to get a spot here and it was such a lovely dining experience. There is so much care and pride that goes into this place and it shows. If you possibly can (and if they have space!) do go, it's really set the bar high! The lobster, oysters and scallops were absolutely wonderful, thank you so much! X

Amazing seafood restaurant with fantastic staff of infectious enthusiasm! Service and meals are outstanding and it has been an absolute pleasure to dine in the restaurant.
Don't miss out on their gin selection - the cherry gin with aguave flavoured tonic is just fantastic on a hot day.
Book well in advance to get a table or go for their takeouts.

A must for anyone visiting Wells who loves seafood! Although be fair, it's worth travelling to Wells purely to go to the Crab House. There's an extensive food menu, but also a lengthy list of local gins, which was a pleasant surprise! The attention to detail is impressive, right down to what tonics pair best with certain gins to enhance different flavours. We had the oysters, lobster, crab and brown shrimp tart, scallop gratin and swordfish - all were excellent. Service was faultless, very friendly and knowledgeable. To cap it off, the interior is lovely too. It's rare to find somewhere that excels

Best service we have ever had! This was a five star experience all around. The food was delicious -fresh, well cooked seafood and very good portion sizes-. The service was perhaps the best we ever had and it definitely made the whole experience even much more enjoyable. As a plus, they also take Covid extremely seriously and try to maintain distance at all times, wear masks, and have spaced out the tables. We will definitely be back!

We were lucky enough to have lunch at this gem of a restaurant without booking ahead. If you are going to go I would definitely recommend booking a table so you aren't disappointed.
The service was amazing and the ladies who waited our table were so friendly.
The restaurant feels really Covid safe and the tables are well spaced out. The traffic light system for the toilets is great.
The food was out of this world and so fresh. I was told by our server that the lobster was caught earlier in the day and you could definitely tell this.
