A generally lovely experience in an old building. Food was good and the rooms were great. Nice and clean and offered lovely refreshments. A lovely rural setting. In general the site was lovely and was splendidly clean. Breakfast was excellent. The older staff were superb but the younger staff were quite awkward and conversation with them was rather strained. Locals were good company though. Better atmosphere at the Queen Vic over the road, hence only 4 stars. Place was lovely though and lots of parking available.

Lovely place, no wonder why it was fully booked when we've tried it before in the past. Staff great and attentive, owners seemed lovely and loved their business. Decor perfect for the place. Rustic and country living. Open fires in bars and hallway to restaurant. Large fresh and clean dining areas with your room names on the table. Menus were very good with a good selection. Surprised the plates weren't very hot. Chicken Kiev best I've tasted. Room was lush, cosy and we'll decorated, fluffy white towels with Molten Brown toiletries, shower was lovely, tea and coffee facilities great. Our room was

Unfortunately this place isn't what it was, and not what it could be. We called in for lunch to find that the menu was only full evening meals. A bar staff member explained that due to COVID-19, they had reduced the menu. We ended up sharing a main meal, which was excellent but not the soup and half a sandwich we'd had on previous visits. The staff also seemed to missing front of house skills. Also worth noting that the electric car chargers are for guests only. A real shame for a pub I have found memories of.

Food was great, as always. The service needs to be improved somewhat! Staff seem to think you should open your own Prosecco? also to give you a desert menu and say you have the table for another 30 minutes but you had time to get one in!! Not my idea of service. Staff are young, no experience, in need go a little training perhaps.

Perfect place for a family (plus dog) lunch. This was our second visit as we were so impressed by the first experience. Firstly the food was fantastic. Lots of choice and some real stand out specials. The seafood options were amazing. The seabass with lobster broth special (see picture for details) was one of the best dishes I've ever had! Then scallops and calamari were also cooked to perfection. Secondly, the staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating and helpful. This ticked all the boxes for us and we'll look forward to the next visit when we are in the area.
