Services
We are Ben and Sarah and have had the pleasure of being pub landlords here at The Bull since 2014. Very much a traditional wet-led pub, the Bull offers a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, making it the perfect choice for the locals to get together and a delightful country pit-stop for visitors.
Regular events take place like quizzes and acoustic nights, along with the annual beer festival 'Bullfest' plus British Legion meetings, dart friendly's and monthly barber Shear & Beer, there is always something going on 'Down that Bull'.Ben's in charge of quality control, making sure all the beers are in tip top condition.

The inn was established in 1780 by Hawkes & Company of Bishop's Stortford, with money earned from supplying malt to the London breweries. They still owned it in the 1870's when the licensee was George George. At some point the pub was called The Black Bull, but nobody knows when the name changed. The pub today has the same narrow-paned lattice windows as a photograph taken in 1876.
There is always something going on 'Down That Bull'. Please check below for dates for our upcoming street food vendors, British Legion meetings, Shear & Beer and Quizzes. Please note that the internet in and around the pub is very poor, so the best option for payment to the street food vans is cash or you can get cashback from inside the pub with any purchase.

Wonderful little village pub in the 'middle of nowhere'. Welcoming proprietors and the locals are friendly too! Well priced and with a delightful outdoor bar in the beer garden built from an old horsebox - regular Friday night gourmet catering vans - check out website for details. Cyclist and Motorcyclist friendly.
