Services
A funeral for a member of your family is the most difficult day of your life. Everything your family and friends ever thought about a loved one is expressed on that day. Whenever someone dies it comes as a great shock, sometimes the death may be expected, but nothing prepares you for the emotional shock of losing someone.
We have described below what we feel most people should expect from the different broad categories of funeral, but the most important thing to remember is that a funeral is personal, just because you call a funeral 'traditional' does not mean it is pre-decided what will happen. Almost all funerals will draw on elements from all categories.
During the funeral arrangements, our funeral director will discuss full details of the expected cost of the funeral. Occasionally we may need to clarify a cost before we can give you the information, but we will confirm the cost is acceptable before committing you to anything. You must feel comfortable with the funeral commitments you are undertaking.
We can help arrange a variety of different types of funeral vehicle hire, including traditional hearse for the coffin and a limousine for your family. We also offer alternative funeral transport to make the day exactly as you wish it to be. Our all-electric passenger vehicles are an eco-friendly alternative to a limousine.
Most people will have given little or no thought to the coffin they want for themselves or a loved one, indeed many will not even realise there is a choice on the type of coffin they can have.

On behalf of all the people who watched Chris Fielder's fine live streaming and the subsequent video of the funeral of my Cousin Dorothy, thank you so much for your professionalism and courtesy. Many people have said how much it made up for not being able to be with us at the funeral in York, others who were there have used it revisit their experience, sad though it was. As someone who worked in the TV business for many years I recognised your high production values.

Big heartfelt thanks to jon Kirkman from myself and my small family group he looked after my late husband with the up most care and dignity .He suggested the ebor chapel at York crematorium it was very personal and handled every detail so professional but taking time to remember we were all grieving and looked after everyone of us . He made a very sad time easier to bear and we shall all be forever grateful to him for taking care of Gerard and us all god bless you

When my mother died on 26April 2018 ,J D Fielders was my first and only choice.I have dealt with them before ,they buried my father ,and their compassion and sympathetic professional attitude at a difficult time is exemplary.

When my wife and best friend passed away 3 weeks ago at the age of 32 my whole World was turned upside down. For a start she passed away in South Shields near Newcastle and I didn't have a clue what to. My family had dealt with John Tattersall at JG Fielder and son before so they were straight on to him. John had her to York as soon as her body was released and came straight out to see me. He was more then just a funeral director, he was a great support who helped me keep it together when I would of otherwise cracked. He did everything I requested, even getting a custom order bright red coffin
