We are a long established private children's nursery situated within the rural village of Houston, Renfrewshire offering flexible childcare options to support families. The nursery is purpose built with spacious open plan playrooms, creating a warm homely feel for the children within a safe and secure environment.
Nature trails and woodland walks are on our doorstep for the children to enjoy on a regular basis. We use a range of teaching strategies and approaches to support our children alongside an appreciation that 'children are the curriculum' and together we plan the daily learning journey.

Services
To help your child feel less apprehensive about their first day at nursery, we will arrange a 'settling-in' period with you, a week or two beforehand and this will be planned with you from a couple of hours, half a day, or a few short visits over time.
We have a comfortable and convenient Parents Room at the nursery so you can be close by and get regular 'updates' from the staff who will be ready to give your child plenty of care and attention to ensure that they are feeling secure and safe on your departure.

If you require any more information about our nursery, or would like to arrange a visit, please do not hesitate to contact the Manager, Beth Morris. Thank you for contacting us. We will be in touch as soon as we can with more details for you. If you need to contact the office during a normal working day then please phone us on 01505 612369.
At Abbey Nursery, the Little Ladybird playrooms have a homely atmosphere with comfortable cots and prams, rocking chairs, comfy sofa and lots of soft cushions. The rooms are bright and extremely well equipped with lots of resources to excite, engage and develop exploration and discovery skills throughout the day.
When children move into the toddler stage, their learning remains largely tactile and sensory. Interactions, experiences and opportunities need to be developmentally appropriate and support their wellbeing and communication and promote curiosity, inquiry and creativity. We support this with experiences for exploratory and investigative play, using a wide variety of natural and open ended materials to stimulate their senses.
