Bathgate castle was the caput of the barony of Bathgate. The castle was part of the dowry of Marjorie Bruce, daughter of King Robert the Bruce, upon her marriage to Walter, High Steward of Scotland in 1314. Walter died there in 1327, and the castle appears was abandoned afterwards. However the site of the castle is located within the 9th hole of our golf course.

Best meal I have had in a while. 4 of us went and all got different items and everyone was delighted with quality and service. My meal was gluten free and they have a good selection to choose from. If I were to be picky i would say way too much food as no one finished everything but hardly a bad thing. Will be going back to try more. 4 had 2 courses each with coffees and under £60.00 including tip.

Had a great meal in September. Visit in December was terrible. Lost the booking for 12 people despite taking deposit. Service was very slow and inattentive. Desserts took forever and they did the 2 small kids last at which point they discovered they had no ice cream. Finally, forgot to take the deposit off the bill. Food was still good, but won't be back.
