The location of the hotel is great, but.. I got the room in the ground floor, and it smelled like mold there and cold. Also, these was a strange sound comming from ventilation system, I told that administrator, and later wrote an email, but no action has been taken.
The room itself was clean, quite small, but cozy. I guess the top floors should be better, but the attitude of management is not acceptable for me.

Absolutely disgusting, would give -1000 stars if I could. Hygiene is non existential. There were slugs in our room, the hall was stinking so badly, we always were running through it. Bathroom absolutely disgusting. Everywhere just solid mold. Breakfast as disgusting as everything else. The guy at the reception was nice. Never again. Don't even come close to this rats nest.

Don't accept room 403!!
The one star is for the cleanliness of the room and kind reception lady. Really comfortable facilities...but oh my gosh the noise of that lift!!!
Room 403, I swear, is located around the lift shaft. There was constant grinding and door slamming sounds from it from 5.30pm - 1am, and then 3am on and off, then from 5.18am onward. I'm exhausted with a plane to catch!
When I called reception the lady said she'd never heard a complaint about it. I did a video anyway.
So tired :(
[edit: increased star rating again due to, again, how good the staff are. I left my camera and

Better options within London for your Money, Seems to be no heating... broken tiles in the bathroom with puddles underneath which then get your socks soaked. Dust seems to be everywhere and anywhere, I think they only do minor cleans in the room. Lastly you have to pay to leave your bags in the hotel after checkout when every other hotel is free! It’s cheap yes but I certainly won’t be back.

It should be illegal for this hotel to keep being in business. The stay is absolutely unbearable. Staff is clueless and very unhelpful. The air conditioner was blowing HOT air which showed 16 degrees on their remote but it felt like 30 degrees and I was finding difficult to breathe and felt suffocated. I called staff and he was clueless and unhelpful. Rooms are small, and dirty, and old, and it felt like being in a nightmare. The wallpaper and rugs were dirty and scary. Had to leave this hotel and book a premier inn instead, where I felt like a civilised human being. The general hotel just looks

DO NOT STAY HERE
Our room was broken into and items were stolen including our car keys and house keys.
We found another hotel to stay in that night. Manager didn’t even contact us the next day.
I can provide anyone with a crime ref number if they want to see if this is a real review.
Please please do not stay here.

We were given room 168, the air conditioner was blowing hot air about 30 degrees Celsius, window not opening. It was like being in a hot oven. I immediately called the reception hoping I was missing a trick and they would be able to resolve the issue. They were very unhelpful. I then requested a refund as there was no way I would sleep in such a place till morning without collapsing and passing out. They adamantly refused to refund my money. I ended up calling my Credit card company to complain and let them know the situation. There were also other customers queued up complaining about the condition

This hotel's location near the Earl's Court underground station and several eateries is its greatest advantage. The bed was comfortable and the staff very friendly. Unfortunately, we got a room in the basement, which was musty, despite a patio door. Breakfast was simple, with a hot drink machine and toast being the only warm alternatives. They also offer a few kinds of cereals, one or two types of fruit, industrial pastries and rolls, and a modest selection of spreads. It was hard to find a seat during the breakfast rush. I imagine the rooms that are not in the basement are fine.

City Continental is a very affordable option. The positives are that it is situated in a great quiet and clean area. Very close to Earl's Court station and has plenty of nearby shops. The cons are that the rooms are small and a little dated. However, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Best part of the stay was the complimentary breakfast!
