We are an employee owned nursery group based in Leicester, with over 25 years' experience in childcare. We offer premium day care for children aged 0 to 5 years. When your child starts at nursery, you want to know that their needs and welfare are paramount to the staff you are leaving them with. We believe that children come first, and we clearly promote this as part of our ethos, starting with staff recruitment.
Our philosophy is to help all children feel settled and happy within our nursery, as these feelings are essential for a child of any age to develop positive self image, and to learn how to learn in a fun and supported manner. All children have the opportunity to grow and develop following the Montessori principles and materials, and the Early Years Foundation Stage.

It all began in 1994 when husband and wife team, Sam and Paul Graveling opened Anstey Lilliput. A brief history of the Lilliput Montessori family of nurseries, it all began back in 1994 when Sam and Paul opened the Anstey nursery. The success here led to nursery number 2 opening in Glenfield in 1997; Coalville in 1999; Whetstone in 2000; and last (to date!) Leicester Forest East in 2007.
The care and early years education of your child is paramount in the minds of the staff at Lilliput. The overall philosophy follows Dr Maria Montessori's principles and theory and the staff have all received in-house training in this respect. The emphasis is placed on child centred learning, with each child recognised and valued as an individual.

The Lilliput Montessori family of nurseries began in Anstey in 1994 and in 2005 the nursery was extended into the neighbouring premises which was converted into our Baby Unit and linked to the existing building. The nursery in Anstey was originally the village's Liberal Club. It had an upstairs function room, and hosted many a lively evening for the residents of Anstey for a long time.
Glenfield was the second in our family of nurseries which opened in 1997. It is a small single storey building with 2 home rooms equipped with age-appropriate furniture and resources for your child. Being a small nursery gives it a strong family-like environment where it is easy for all children, parents and staff to get to know each other well and develop positive relationships.

My son has attended this nursery for 2 and a half years now, he really enjoys going and has developed so much. They give him such a personal and tailored experience. They’ve always been flexible and fair regarding any of our requests and have taken the time to listen to anything we have to say/suggest. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

Absolutely love this nursery, my daughter has been going a few weeks and settled in straight away!. I love how they use tapestry to keep me informed of her daily care and observations.
They have been so flexible with my needs and booked in extra sessions when needed. I've now decided to Up her hours 🙂
The atmosphere of the nursery is lovely, all the staff I have crossed paths with have been warm and welcoming too.
Jo and the team have made my daughter feel at home and reassured me that she's well looked after in my absence.

From the moment I looked around I felt very welcome, every staff member was friendly and said hello to me and my son.
His first day he was so happy to leave me and was excited to stay, waving me goodbye.
He comes out happy and enjoys talking about his day. It really does feel like a home away from home, but with more fun as he has his friends and activities all day.

All of the girls at lilliput are so warm and welcoming which is what initially attracted us to sending our daughter. She has been going over a year now and impresses me with how quickly she is progressing thanks to Lilliput.
At weekends she asks if she can go to nursery, knowing she is happy is evidence enough she is in the right place!

My little boy has been coming here since he was 1 he has came on leaps and bounds, the setting is lovely and really welcoming. All members of staff are fabulous and very professional. My boy will be going… school this year which is a massive heart break but thanks to the staff he is hitting all of his targets. Thank you so much Lilliput Montessori xx

The nursery is amazing the staff are very informative, helpful they always give me a great breakdown on what my child has been doing day to day or what they are working on at the nursery so that we can work together at home to help with that particular skill set she is trying to be taught that week. The progression she has made has allowed her to be forward for her age which we couldn't be happier about. The management staff are brilliant more than happy to help and go the extra mile to try and accommodate if you need some extra childcare, they have also helped with anything else we have needed
