Services
Hello from the Year 1 team! In Year 1, we have two teachers Mrs Duffy (who works in Y1 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning) and Mrs Taylor (who works in Y1 on some Wednesday afternoons, Thursday and Friday). Sports bottles (name on please) filled with fresh water may be brought in and taken home everyday.
We are the oldest class in Key Stage 1 and our class teachers are Mrs Talbot-Davies (Monday to Thursday lunchtime) and Mrs Ryan (Thursday afternoon to Friday hometime). Mrs O'Donoghue is our class teaching assistant. We have lots of fun and are always learning lots of new things! Every day from 10.15 free fruit available or alternatively children can bring their own healthy snack!
Diaries will be sent home daily and need to be signed and returned to school once a week. Any appointments or messages can be passed on through these diaries and they are checked each morning. Children should have a bottle of water to keep in the classroom. These bottles should be clearly labelled with your child's name on and should not contain juice.
Flutes will need to be brought into school for our weekly music lesson led by Saint Helens Music Service. The children will have a weekly times table test on Tuesday. This will be on times tables we have been learning in class. Logins for Times Tables Rock Stars can be found in the children's diaries and they should log on to practise their times tables as part of their weekly homework.
Any important messages or information can be communicated through pupil diaries. Pupils will be expected to be responsible for informing the class teacher if they have a message to read. We are now operating an electronic payment system, therefore all payments can be made online if it is more convenient.

Lovely, friendly and caring school. My children live it here and are achieving a good level of education. Premier education provide the students with a good mix of sports activities and holiday time clubs. The school offers a good variety of music and singing lessons. It also has a breakfast and after school club. I have always found the teaching staff very supportive and understanding - I am very happy with St. Mary's and am thankful my children have been given the opportunity to school there.
