In the heart of Somerset, lie the Quantocks, the first ever designated AONB in the country. These romantic self-catering cottages are for rent all the year round. They have stunning views of Exmoor and are set in 8 acres with the Quantock hills rising behind them. We have one cottage with a large double bedroom and a second cottage with a double and single bedroom which has 2 full size single beds.

For the more active, the self catering cottages also have access to the on site tennis court and each cottage has tennis balls and rackets. The cottages are approached down 8 garden steps which lead into their own courtyard containing the swimming pool - which in the summer, is a veritable sun trap.

Our Honeysuckle Self catering holiday cottage in the Quantocks, is a charming 2 bedroom cottage. Upstairs the cottage has a double and single bedroom which has 2 single beds if needed. The cottage has a charming and light disposition and because it is centrally heated, it's comfortable all year round.
A romantic self catering cottage in the Quantocks. The Mouse House is a perfect nest from which to explore the beauty of the Quantock hills and the local attractions. This one bedroom self catering cottage has a spacious open plan upstairs double bedroom (shown below) and large dressing area. The bathroom has a bath and full electric shower.
The Quantock hills were the first area in England to be designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1956 and it's not hard to see why this was the case. As you explore the 35 square miles that make up the Quantock hills, you'll be struck by the raw beauty of this charming landscape. The Quantocks are a popular destination for walkers, riders, naturalists, mountain bikers and anyone who loves the outdoors.
The gardens at Higher House are on several different levels. In front of the main house is the owner's private garden, which you are welcome to pass through in order to admire the views. Above this, through the opening at the end of the car-park, is an orchard garden which is entirely at the disposal of the cottage guests.

We spent the lockdown in one of the cottages. It was absolutely brilliant. A fantastic location, endless walks from the doorstep of the cottage, a lovely village, and the owner (Jennifer) was always so helpful. The cottage itself was very comfortable - cosy and quiet. A short drive brings you to the coast, the longest heritage railway in the UK, micro breweries, gastro pubs. this area has the lot.
