We are an established veterinary practice covering Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and surrounding areas of Mid Sussex. Our philosophy is to provide the most effective care available. Our state-of-the-art medical equipment further aids our capabilities; as does the many years of practical experience, and knowledge, of our staff.

Our compassionate veterinary team endeavour to provide a flawless, caring service to all our clients and their furry friends: supplying both preventative and supportive care within the practice. We treat all animals except equine and farm animals. We may refer birds and reptiles to a local specialist if we feel it is necessary.
Services
Oathall Veterinary Group was originally established in 1904 by Henry Taylor MRCVS (1870-1954). Mr Taylor graduated from the New Veterinary College, Edinburgh in 1899. He based his practice first at Sunnyside, Haywards Heath and then at Ormerod House, also in Haywards Heath. Kenneth Stuart, Henry's son in law, took over at the Oathall Road premesis in 1940, and ran the practice as a large animal only practice.
Oathall Veterinary Group is dedicated to providing your pet with a caring and professional service. Our staff are devoted to providing the attention and care each pet deserves. The entire team of Vets, Nurses and Support Staff understand how much your pets mean to you, and you can be sure of a dedicated, professional and caring service from our entire team.
We are very excited to be able to offer a much larger range of goods via our online shop including food, toys and non-prescription medications. We now sell many items for a wider variety of animals than we treat such as horses, sheep and pigeons to name but a few! Please look at our shop and remember that items can be delivered FREE OF CHARGE to our surgery for collection or you can pay a small fee and have them delivered to your door.
Oathall Veterinary Group is able to take routine telephone calls from 7.45am Monday to Friday, and from 8.30am on Saturdays, however the surgery will not be open. Appointments run at varying times between 8.00am and 7pm weekdays and 9am - 13.00pm Saturdays.

Any emergency cases coming to the surgery will be seen immediatley during normal working hours even though an appointment has not been made, but please try to telephonebefore arriving at the practice. We also offer out of hours appointments which carry a small additional fee, but are cheaper than calling a vet out as an emergency.
At Oathall Veterinary Group we appreciate that, when your pets are required to make a stay in our hospital, be it routine or emergency, it can be a very stressful time for all involved.

In order to prepare you for your pet's surgery we have included some information on pre and post operative care, as well as information on 'What Will Happen to My Pet in the Hospital?', in an attempt to relieve you of some of the worry that this occasion can cause.

Took pet for an emergency appointment. Sent home with pain medication, My precious boy passed away a few hours later. He suffered incredible pain. The vet's didn't care one bit, they said they could have done more for him, the vet didn't think he was that ill.He was young and should still be here. I would never use there services again. I'm very upset that they were recommended to me to use. If you love your pet (family member), I would recommend using another vetinary practice.

We recently said a very sad goodbye to one of our cats who became very ill very quickly. He was treated at Oathall over the course of a couple of weeks and the service we had at every opportunity was outstanding. Their communication was fantastic and they were unbelievable caring and considerate to us and our cat. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Moved our dogs here when we moved to the area but have now moved them dog back to their old vets. This vet in my opinion have their proprieties wrong! First is money then the welfare of the animal. My dog was subscribe tablets that from the start turned him completely off his food. Called on the Wednesday to check if this could be a side effect of the medication and was told then we would have a call back but no call received. Called again on the Saturday as he had been sick with diarrhoea to be told that it was up to me if I wanted to pay for a call back from the vet to discuss side effects or

Don’t go here if you value your pet’s life
Utterly shambolic, chaotic service with terrible communication, which ultimately resulted in the death of my young dog, who was my child and my whole world. I beg you to go to another vet if you value your pet’s life. I am broken. Animals are not treated like family members here but like farm animals. They may be the only local vet with an out of hours service, but this does not provide a safe service, so is not worth it. Reception staff are also rude. Please go elsewhere.

We have always had nothing but impeccable service from Oathall vets and would never go anywhere else. All the staff are so lovely and helpful, from the receptionists to the vets. We are quite cautious cat parents and often ring for advice, nothing is too much for them or a stupid question and they are always so happy to help. We always feel listened too and are made to feel they genuinely care. We have required two emergency appointments and our cat has been seen and treated within the hour. Thankfully our cat hasn’t needed anything major, however our emergency appointments, annual vaccinations

We have used Oathall Vets for the past 10 years for our various Rottweilers. The staff at Oathall Vets have always been kind and helpful when dealing with our dogs. Recently the vet Rachel Turner and the nurses have gone the extra mile whilst dealing with our current dog and his anxiety issues including working out the best methods to help treat him and prevent further issues. Rachel has continually kept us updated and continues to think of ways to help our dog.
We would highly recommend this veterinary group who continue to work diligently throughout the Covid pandemic.

Excellent, Covid secure service. They saw my dog and gave her a thorough diagnosis from the car. Medication was also dispensed securely from a door in a timely fashion. The vet was sympathetic and made what could have been a more stressful situation very easy
