A warm and friendly welcome awaits guests at Ullapool's finest guest house, offering bed and full Scottish breakfast. The Sheiling is a very comfortable, modern home, which stands peacefully beside the shore of Loch Broom and enjoys fabulous views of the loch and mountains beyond. The guests accommodation is spacious with fabulous views of the loch from the sitting room and breakfast room, as well from some of the bedrooms.
The picturesque fishing village of Ullapool, is on the West Coast of Scotland in the North West Highlands. The Sheiling is just 5 minutes from the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry to the Hebrides (Western Isles) which leaves twice daily from Ullapool harbour (just once on Sundays).

Situated by the edge of Loch Broom on the outskirts of Ullapool, The Sheiling enjoys spectacular views of mountains and lochs. The Sheiling comprises six letting bedrooms, double and twin-bedded, all with en-suite facilities - some with bath, some with shower. All rooms have a hospitality tray. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, and two of the upstairs bedrooms have loch views.
If you cancel your booking more than 3 days prior to the date of arrival, an administrative fee of 10 will be charged. If you cancel your booking 3 days prior to the date of arrival, the booking will be charged in full. To secure the booking the first night's stay will be charged in full. The balance of payment will be due 3 working days prior to arrival.
Whatever you have planned for the day, we like to help start it off with a good breakfast. Wherever possible we try to get local produce such as our smoked salmon from the Ullapool Smokehouse. We have a spacious breakfast room with a wonderful view of the loch. We take your order in the evening beforehand and have it prepared for you between between 8 and 9am.
We have tried to include some pictures here that will give you an idea of the area around our B&B and the beauty we are gifted with in terms of nature, environment and scenery. Pictures often fail to capture the actual breathtaking views and sights that you will find throughout the Highlands but we hope this will at least give you a taster of what is in store if you come to stay at The Sheiling.
Ullapool is in the north west Highlands of Scotland. The region is one of the last unspoilt natural environments in Europe which is great for seeing wildlife and exploring the Highlands and Western Isles. If you are driving here, we are approximately 55 miles north west of Inverness on the A835. Cars can be hired in Inverness centre or at the airport that has links to most major airports in the UK and some in Europe.

We are returning guests and as always a very warm welcome from Michael & Maureen on our return visit to The Sheiling. The accommodation is beautifully kept, spacious & comfortable. The views from the garden & breakfast room across Loch Broom are outstanding. As for the breakfast, you will not get better, from the homemade granola & yogurt to the perfectly cooked Full Scottish. We thoroughly recommend The Sheiling.

Clean, tidy, a comfy bed, a genuinely lovely breakfast, and excellent service from the young couple with their toddler. The views from the room to the loch were impressive, as it is all the Ullapool region.
Hotel standards with the friendship of a nice familiar B&B. Definitely a repeat if we end in that corner of Scotland again.

Gorgeous view of the Loch. Room was nice and comfortable with a good bed. A small bottle of whiskey and some glasses was waiting in our room giving us our first taste of Scottish Whiskey, although they didn't identify the distiller. It was very smooth and a nice touch. The owners seemed a little put off that we had an early departure that required breakfast a bit early. They accommodated, but it was a little uncomfortable. The grounds were spectacular and the walk to town for dinner was a pleasant distance. Another great H&I Adventure pick.

Lovely location and host.
A very warm welcome greeted us and we were shown to our immaculately kept bedrooms. The rooms contained lots of well thought out extras like sherry, toiletries etc. Our hosts were very helpful and offered us a power point to charge our electric vehicle. The breakfast table was well presented and the breakfast was one of the best we have had on our trip.

This house has one of the best views of the bay. Comfortable beds, delicious Scottish breakfast, and all nice and clean. To top it off, The Sheiling also has laundry machines and sauna. Can't remember the name of the owner, but she sure tries to make one's own stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
