Services
As an established Edinburgh therapy and coaching provider, First Psychology offers the following services to individuals, couples and groups. All our services are provided by experienced psychologists, counsellors/psychotherapists and cognitive-behaviour therapists. Our experienced practitioners offer supervision and consultancy services for mental health and social care professionals.
Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy at our Edinburgh centre. We are pleased to offer cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) at our Edinburgh centre. CBT draws on psychological ideas to look at very specific issues or difficulties, such as anxiety, stress or depression.
Our counsellors, counselling psychologists and psychotherapists offer a range of approaches at our Edinburgh centre, so we can tailor our approach to suit your needs. Counselling involves talking with a trained practitioner about the aspects of your life that are causing upset or distress with the aim of improving things.
Psychotherapy is a process that involves talking about issues or problems that cause difficulty for you, and that perhaps have been around for quite a while. Psychotherapy uses a more in-depth approach than counselling, and often looks at your life as a whole rather than focusing on specific concerns in the here and now.
Couples Counselling/Relationship Counselling (these terms are often used interchangeably) is a process designed to both understand what is going wrong in a relationship and to find ways of making things better. At our Edinburgh centre we have many experienced Couples Counsellors who can work with a couple, or sometimes an individual, to understand their relationship problems.

Great admin staff, prompt communication following initial enquiries. Staff are very professional, non-judgemental, reassuring and easy to get along with. They offer a wide range of helpful services. Accessible locations, rooms are light and comfortable - and they offer hot drinks! I was anxious about the first appointment but as soon as I met Ewan and noticed the calm, peaceful surroundings I felt quite relaxed. Overall, such a valuable experience and I'd give it 6 stars if that was possible!

Very sympathetic admin staff, who are able to listen to your inquiry and refer you to a suitable practitioner based on your needs. I inquired about sessions with Lucy Clark and she was very honest about what she could provide. As my requirements were more than what skype could provide and also that if she her skills and experience would not be suitable she suggested to be refereed to a specialist in the area of my difficulties. Something that I valued.
