A small, friendly, family orientated primary school in the heart of the picturesque Corvedale. Corvedale is a small, friendly, family orientated primary school in the heart of the village of Diddlebury in south Shropshire. Children join our Reception Class when they are four and stay with us up until Year 6 when they move on to high school.
The purpose of history teaching at Corvedale Primary School is to stimulate the children's interest and understanding about the life of people who lived in the past. We teach children that events in the past are connected to related events at the time and have a legacy, often lasting until today.

We teach children a sense of chronology, and through this they develop a sense of identity and a cultural understanding based on their historical heritage. Thus they learn to value their own and other people's cultures in modern multicultural Britain and, by considering how people lived in the past, they are better able to make their own life choices today.
In the heart of the Corvedale we are an outward looking Church of England primary school which welcomes pupils from the village of Diddlebury and the surrounding area. We work together to care for our pupils while encouraging them to succeed and do their best in all areas of their life.

As a church aided school our mission is to serve the community by providing an education of the highest quality rooted in Christian faith and practice, within a caring, stimulating and trusting environment. Our vision and Christian values are at the heart of everything we strive for at Corvedale. Our vision is to foster a love of God, a love of learning and a love of life.
Our Christian values are the foundations of our teaching and learning and provide an environment which nurtures happy, confident and independent children, who make good choices and contribute positively to society.

Every person deserves to live a life in all its fullness and fulfil their potential, and it falls to us, within our role of Christian service to all in this locality, to strive to counteract all barriers of difference such as race, nationality, religion, gender and status which limit their personal flourishing. Our actions are the outworking in our daily school life of the two great commandments of love of God and love of neighbour.
Aims reflect our beliefs and values and represent what we want to achieve as a school community. Develop knowledge and skills through an exciting and creative curriculum which fosters a lasting enjoyment of learning. Be happy, confident, independent and proud of themselves and their achievements in all areas of their life.
