Services
Established in 1980, Downton Community Pre-School is a thriving group catering for pre-school children in Downton, Wiltshire. We strive to offer a caring, safe and stimulating environment in which your child may grow and learn through play. The Pre-School is a non-profit making charity run by a parent management committee whose aim is to be responsive to the needs of our local community.
We highly recommend Downton Preschool, all 3 of our children attended and they all had very positive experiences. The staff are kind, caring and patient. Our children thrived there and it was a perfect stepping stone for primary school. All 3 of my boys have attended Downton Community preschool and I can not recommend enough!
We are affiliated with the Pre-School Learning Alliance and registered with Ofsted. We offer children the opportunity to learn through play in a stimulating, nurturing and safe environment. We believe that education is an ongoing process which starts at birth and continues through pre-school, formal schooling and into adult life.
Here's our simple routine, we continually adapt it depending on the weather, our current activities and always the interests of each individual child. Our routine is very flexible, letting the children play a big part in deciding how they spend their time here. The key aim of our pre-school is that all children are supported in developing their potential at their own pace. A typical session at Downton Community Pre-School will include many creative activities such as painting, sand or water play, bricks and constructional toys, puzzles, imaginative and role play, the book corner, movement and music, discussions, rhymes and stories.
