Fabulous hotel in amazing setting. Out of the front door onto the beach almost. Room was huge and tasteful and beds were exquisitely comfy. Breakfast was perfect with a huge choice and we'll presented. I had full English with extra black pudd ...cooked perfectly and served quickly. Staff were exceptional both in efficiency and friendliness

Hotel in great location. We also had fantastic weather! Staff very helpful and all very clean. We missed not having the Brasserie open as the only evening meals were in the Indian which is not for us! However, managed to book to eat out each night. My only negative comment would be really weak showers, otherwise very enjoyable stay with great breakfasts too. Would stay there again.

A fantastic stay at the White Lion. Location is perfect being right on the beach & a short walk to shops. The staff were all incredibly attentive & friendly. We had a delicious breakfast delivered to our room the next morning & that certainly was a highlight. Enjoyed a fantastic meal in the Sea Spice. My husband & I agreed that it was one of the best Indian cuisines that we have visited. We ended our night with a picinic blanket on the beach, watching the sunset, then drinks back in the hotel. A fantastic cocktail selection!! Would highly recommend.

Aldeburgh is a beautiful spot in Suffolk so definitely worth a visit...but the same can't be said for The White Lion Hotel. Three stars is a fair and balanced review of the whole experience as there were some nice things and there were some not so nice things.
Generally, I judge a hotel on how it caters to those who are on a budget and what level their basic facilities are at - at this hotel, it's not great. Room 23 is exceptionally small for what is considered a 'standard, inland' room in the hotel. Having stayed in hotels in London and across Europe, tiny rooms very much exist (shoebox, bijou
