The Bell Bovingdon only take bookings for FOOD, we do get very busy for food so booking is advised. The Bell Bovingdon is a lovely 18th Century Grade II listed family run pub situated not far from Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire. Here you'll find traditional log burning fires and cosy low ceilings.

The food here is really good - proper pies with pastry all around (none of that 'pot with a pastry lid' rubbish here) and properly packed with meat too. I had the chicken & ham and my wife had the steak & ale and both were excellent. Can't comment on the beers unfortunately, as I was driving, but there seemed to be a good choice including locally brewed ales. Recommended!

Absolute gluten free heaven and huge portions to boot!
Camembert to start with loads of tasty gf bread. Burger for main and struggled to fit in gf sticky toffee pudding.
The non-gf people were very happy too!

First time I've been here, nice pub with a good atmosphere. Had a really good meal in their restaurant which is separate from the bar area, good service, good food, good value. All in all a very nice evening out, will be back again👍

We had an excellent meal at The Bell Inn - the food was of the highest quality (I loved the steak pie!), and the service was friendly and efficient. Reasonable prices too. Recommended!

Just eaten at the Bell Inn to celebrate my 2 youngest leaving school for college and uni. Second time we've been there and both times excellent food and service . Large portions. Only disappointment was none of us could fit in a pudding - maybe next time I'll miss lunch in readiness. Thanks and see you again.

This is a dog friendly pub, they were treated to a bone snack each which they enjoyed. We also enjoyed a very tasty meal. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going there more often.
