Hypnotherapy can help you make positive changes in your life and refocus the way you think. Sometimes we all need a little help to move forward and refocus to a more positive frame of mind and to create those changes we seek to make our lives better. The Refocus Hypnotherapy Practice is located on the Kingswood side of Bristol within easy access to the ring road. Each session is tailored to your individual needs. I offer a free initial session to allow you to decide without obligation if you want to proceed into therapy (except stop smoking - which usually requires only one double session).

I became fascinated in the power of the mind when working as an advisor. I noticed that the way people thought had a big effect on the way they lived their lives and that all too often people were putting up with lives that could be so much better. I wanted to be able to help people focus their minds and make things better for themselves and Hypnotherapy is a therapy that can help enable this.
Hypnotherapy combines an understanding of how the mind works with the use of hypnosis to bring about positive changes in attitude, behaviour and reactions. Beneficial results can often be achieved more quickly with hypnotherapy than with other talking therapies. Hypnosis is a state of highly focused attention which enables you to create changes in your life.
When we experience occassional anxiety and stress we can change our behaviour and the feelings of anxiety and stress diminish. But sometimes anxiety and stress builds up slowly and we just don't realise the pressures of life are getting on top of us until we feel we are losing control and are unable to cope as well as before.
It is thought that lifestyle or emotional factors have a direct influence on high blood pressure and through HYPNOTHERAPY the lifestyle and emotional factors can be helped. As a Certified Practitioner of the Hypnotension programme I have been trained to tackle the most common emotional and lifestyle factors that can cause primary or essential hypertension.
Your conscious mind knows that it is an unhealthy habit but the desire to smoke seems to override this - you may find it hard to avoid smoking a cigarette first thing in the morning or just before you go into the office or when socialising and wonder why you can't stop. When your intent to give up smoking is strong, hypnotherapy works by communicating a clear message to your subconscious that you are a non-smoker.
