What is Solution Focused Hypnotherapy? Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can make a positive difference to the way we react by changing old patterns of behaviour to new more positive ones, enabling us to cope so much better with life's challenges. The therapy focuses on the client's strengths and resources enabling them to look forward to a more positive future where they are more in control of their thoughts, feelings and actions.

Hypnotherapy is different from other therapies in that it is drug free, there is no physical manipulation and the conscious mind, with its anxious or analytical thoughts, is bypassed. It is the conscious mind which can often hinder the success of other forms of psychological work such as counselling or psychotherapy.
Services
Along with raising a family, Susan has a background of Strategic Planning and Procurement within the Telecoms Industry. Having a strong belief in helping people to realise and release their own potential she was involved with company team-building and coaching events. About fifteen years ago Susan became interested in complementary therapies and hypnotherapy in particular.
Scientific evidence shows that cigarette smoking is the greatest single cause of illness and premature death in the UK - but we already know that, so why do we continue to smoke when we know the risks? Why did we start? Why do we continue after that first awful puff? Why can't we stop?

Because our subconscious mind has been programmed by advertising and false self-programming to believe that "It's difficult to stop" "I need it" "It helps me cope with stress".In fact smoking is a major cause of anxiety and depression. How can Hypnotherapy help? Hypnotherapy is different from other therapies in that it is drug free, there is no physical manipulation and the conscious mind, with its anxious or analytical thoughts, is bypassed.
How can Hypnosis help? The mind can be trained to experience discomfort as only pressure, and that is what is achieved in childbirth hypnosis. In addition, with labour, the more relaxed the mother is, the more comfort she will have. Physical relaxation, using guided visualisations followed by positive hypnotic suggestions, is learned and practiced daily in preparation for birth.
Clinical Supervision is a requirement for membership of the major hypnotherapy organisations and is generally regarded as essential to the provision of effective therapy. For those who have recently qualified there is often confusion as to exactly what supervision is and why it is so important to good practice.
