Services
Jono and Victoria Smith-Milne would like to welcome you to the Old Court Hotel in Symonds Yat West, Herefordshire which they bought in 2006 after they fell in love with the hotel and the picturesque Wye Valley. You can be sure of a welcoming visit and comfortable accommodation as Jono and Victoria have between them over 30 years experience in the hospitality industry.
The Wye Valley and the Vale of Usk have long been places of significance in English and Welsh history as well as the beautiful setting in which various ancestral arms of the Gwillim dynasty held sway as lords and minor kings in this often troubled land on the border between England and Wales. After 1066, ancestors of the Gwillims married into several illustrious families of Norman origin and were granted lands as manorial lords and freeholders.
The Old Court Hotel offers a wide range of great tasting food which we are confident suits all budgets and tastes. We offer a wonderful fine dining experience in our beautiful and historic Tudor Dining Room restaurant, a relaxing lunch or evening meal in our light and airy conservatory and traditional pub meals in our equally charming and atmospheric Cotswold Bar.
Old Court Hotel in Symonds Yat, Wye Valley Herefordshire provides a great setting for special celebrations and events, with The Elizabethan Function Room perfectly suited for formal and informal occasions. We have hosted many wonderful weddings, birthday parties, reunions and christenings and we hold a civil wedding licence for our Wedding Venue.
Thanks go to Visit Herefordshire for putting this whole set of "Roast & Ramble" walks together. We have lots of space to offer coach trips a place to park during the day and refreshments for everyone in our function room or bar areas. In addition we can offer trips down the Wye river with Kingfisher Cruises or Day Passes for the Butterfly Zoo, Amazing Hedge Puzzle and Mini Golf.

Stayed here last minute with my partner and had high hopes for the place. The room was lovely (we stayed in the Elizabeth) but absolutely boiling hot on arrival. To the point where we turned the heating off and had to open all the windows even during this cold weather. Other than that the room was lovely, clean and thankfully the lady who greeted us gave us good directions to get to it!
We booked dinner for the evening as we are looking for a place to host a family reunion meal for 30 in the new year and wanted to try their food. We had a combination of specials and their hot board. It wasn’t

We had high hopes for this wonderful location. The staff were very efficient and the food tasted great. However I think the chef was in love as we say in Austria, my main coarse, the lamb casserole came without its dumpling and my apple crumble was cold. Two other observations one of the waitresses had a top on where the shoulders were not covered, I'm sure if one of the male waiters turned up in a vest he would be sent home to change. The other observation was that when serving drinks the glasses were being held too close to the rims so the fingers were where the mouth would be when drinking.

Absolutely stunning location. Not suitable for wheelchair users as no disabled loo available and stalls are quite narrow. Food was lovely. Service was perfect, it actually seemed like they cared

Found this pub on the way back from a long walk, we hadn't booked but they fitted all 3 of us in. The food was lovely, & filling we all enjoyed our meals & the staff were friendly and polite. The only thing I would say is we asked for a glass of water, & waited for a while. If I was down this way I would definitely go again.

The Party Pioneers DJ company worked here 23rd July 2021.
The venue is beautiful and very spacious with amazing photographic scenery.
The function room can fit 75 people comfortably dancing. It has a classic aesthetic look which is great for first dances.
The staff were very professional, friendly, hospitable and all wore masks even though the rules (at the time of writing) fully over.
One of the best venues I have worked at.
