I am a counsellor offering talking therapy to adults and teenagers. My approach is completely non-judgemental and I use the therapeutic model or combination of models that best suits the individual and the problems that he or she is facing. For some, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) will be more comfortable as it is structured and works to achieve goals, or a third wave CBT such as ACT or DBT.
For others, an unstructured person centred approach provides the space in which they are able to talk about, and work through, their issues. Specialised therapy is also used for particular issues, for example Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT) for mood regulation, and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
