Buttercups believes that whilst our children are learning they should have the opportunity to blossom and shine and have a happy day every day. We believe that a child's early years are the most important years for learning. Therefore, at Buttercups we strive to provide high quality care and education for all children which is appropriate for their individual needs and their unique personalities.

We believe that a child's learning should be fun and by creating a stimulating environment, we encourage every child's natural curiosity to observe, experience and learn. This approach creates a flying start to their educational journey. We see Buttercups as a family - a loving, caring community where children are known as individuals that matter.
Services
Places are prioritised to children of three years and over. At busy times Buttercups may introduce a maximum number of places in each session for children under the age of three (this enables the staff to give the right level of attention to the younger children without compromising the older children).
In 2011, the UK government set out a new requirement for 'British Values' to help everybody to live in a safe and welcoming community where they feel that they belong. If you want to talk to us about how we build British Values into the curriculum please speak to a member of staff. In 2015 the Prevent Duty also became law.
The inspection went well and we are pleased to report that we continue to be rated as an OUTSTANDING Pre-school. Teaching is outstanding because staff make accurate assessments of children's progress and use these to plan stimulating activities that enable them to achieve exceptionally well, given their starting points and capabilities.
Buttercups currently has nine members of staff and the majority work on a part-time basis across the week. All members of staff, committee members and helpers are subject to a DBS (Disclosure and Baring Service) check. This helps us to ensure that all people involved with the setting are suitable for working with children.
To give you an idea of our general routine and to let you have a pointer for talking to your child about what they have been doing, we've summarised a typical day in our setting. The doors open at 8.50 am once the bell has rung and the Out of School children leave the building, a member of Pre-school staff will come and stand at the door and welcome everyone in.
