The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old (the end of their Reception year at Primary School). All schools and Ofsted-registered early years providers must follow the EYFS. As children get older and grow in confidence and competence, the other four areas, known as the specific areas, will be expanded upon.
Any parent interested in enrolling their child at Little Owls is welcome to visit during a session. This will give you a chance to meet our staff, to see the setting, and to let your child take part in the day's activities. In order to ensure that staff can dedicate time to your visit, please make sure that you book your visit in advance.
For parents paying for their child's place at Little Owls, invoices are issued by Julie, our Administrator, on a termly basis and are due for payment at the beginning of the term. Our hourly rate is 6.00 per hour and each session is a minimum of 3 hours. Parents who have successfully registered for an 'online tax free childcare account' will be able to send payments to us.
If your child attends for the morning session you are welcome to collect them at midday or they can stay to share lunch with us and be collected at 1pm. Afternoon sessions start at Midday and your child will, normally, have their lunch with us when they arrive. Our admissions policy is that children come for a minimum of 2 sessions as we find this works best for children settling.
We believe that care and education are equally important in the experience which we offer children. We organise our sessions so that the children can choose from and work at a range of activities and build up their ability to select and work through a task to its completion.
The children are also helped and encouraged to take part in adult-led small and large group activities which introduce them to new experiences and help them to gain new skills, as well as helping them to learn to work with others.Outdoor activities contribute to children's health, their physical development and their knowledge of the world around them.
