Collingwood is a beautiful care home situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Longwell Green, Bristol. The ethos of Collingwood is to provide a homely and friendly environment where each resident is cared for individually. The home is maintained to a high standard to provide a satisfying place to live and work.

Collingwood is a beautiful care home situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Longwell Green, Bristol. Our home features 26 bedrooms, 2 communal bathrooms with bath hoists and 2 communal shower rooms. We are very luck to have 3 lounge areas, all with their own character. This includes the Orangery which is a lovely light area, smaller area with a TV and the quiet lounge which features our book shelve and play corner for visiting children.

My work as Registered Provider at Collingwood started about 6 years ago when I was winding down from being a GP at Hanham Health. The role of the registered provider is to ensure good quality of care to residents and support the management team in their roles. I visit several times during the week and talk to the residents to find out how they feel about the service being provided.

Although the last few months of her life were difficult, she was always shown patience and dignity.

At Collingwood, we offer a varied activities programme and all of our residents are encouraged to take part. Activities include physio sessions, bingo, arts & crafts, music entertainment, quizzes and games. We have close ties with the local community which includes working with a local school participating in the Alive!
