We believe in the importance of choice. It is our choices that define who we are. It is by making choices in our lives, by controlling our own destiny, that we are independent, that we have self respect. Choices can be big, or they can be small. Our philosophy is to encourage and support our residents in making choices, in being independent.
Making the decision to move into one of our homes does not mean giving up independence. In our homes we create a relaxed and happy atmosphere. We understand that people value their privacy and independence, yet appreciate the benefits of companionship and the reassurance that help is on hand if needed.

Services
We strive to provide a high quality of care to all of our residents. The most important aspect of this is the quality and professionalism of the people who provide that care. Careful recruitment, good trainingand fair pay rates all contribute. Most of all, we treat our people with respect. In this way we have excellent staff retention and can create an ambience of continuity and community.
After a new resident has moved in, we will prepare a detailed care plan. This will describe clearly how we will provide the support and encouragement, to enable as independent and comfortable a lifestyle as possible. We use a holistic, person-centred approach to our care planning, considering strengths as well as areas requiring support.
The environment we create in our homes contributes to the highest quality of lifestyle for our residents. Many of our homes are feature properties, often with modern extensions. We provide a combination of an interesting and characterful environment along with modern facilities and comfortable bedrooms.
Our homes are regularly commended on the food served and we aim to provide home cooking, using fresh ingredients, often sourced from local suppliers, in an interesting and varied menu. Care is taken to offer residents a balanced diet and we can meet any special dietary requirements. Menus are provided in all resident rooms and are available in the dining room.
Sadly, Alzheimer's disease, and dementia generally, are increasing problems. Many of our homes are registered to provide care for people suffering from these problems. Whilst all care homes are independently inspected, the standards used have little specific content for dementia care. Consequently, there are no clear, formal benchmarks for quality in dementia care.
